The Happy War

Everyone is satisfied. The aggressive section of ________ public opinion has been appeased. __________, which was never really out of __________, is now indisputably part of ________. There have been no terrible outbreaks of communal violence. The ________, who capitulated in four days and 13 hours, satisfied the demands of his ego for at least a token fight. Said Lieut. General Sir ________, the _______ generalissimo: "It is not our job to hurt anybody who is law-abiding." This presumably included the ________ army. There were no casualty reports (by the best available count, twelve _______ soldiers were killed)

This is part of a report that appeared in X magazine nicknaming it The Happy War. Which war?
